About Michele
Author. Editor. Shop Owner. Mom. Grandma.
Those five words sum up who I am. I might also add I love taking photos and journaling. As far being a mom and grandma goes, I have two grown children and one grandchild. Two fur babies keep me company when I’m home. I’m the owner of Beach Girl Books and More. While I build my small business, I do work a day job as a school librarian. But what’s my writing journey been like?
Storyline
- 1981
When I was in sixth grade, I started a diary. It had four lines for four years, and I never missed a day.
- 1984
During my freshman year of high school, I wrote my first short story. It wasn’t very good, but I knew I wanted to keep trying.
- 2005
I loved marching band when I was in high school. So, I decided to write a book about my experiences and publish it through a company I would never recommend now.
- 2013
I published my first book, Be Strong, and I was working on the second book of what I thought would be a trilogy.
- 2014
I published the second book of the trilogy, Pinky Swear.
- 2018
I joined a Facebook group for young adult sweet romance writers and ended up writing a short story that was published in an anthology, The Art of Taking Chances.
- 2019
I rebranded the marching band book and split it into two books–one about being a band member and the other about being a staff member. I also wrote a book about being a Rick Springfield fan. All three books were published within three months.
- Today
My work in progress is a novel for the new series I’m writing. I’m switching genres–from women’s fiction to sweet romance.
