Back to Blogging: Sweet Small-Town Romance and Dogs

Hello, Friend!

I’m back to blogging! Thanks for stopping by and spending a little bit of your day with me. Whether you’ve read my stories before or just wandered in because you love sweet romance and dogs, you’re in exactly the right place.

I’m Michele, and I write sweet, clean romance about later-in-life couples who are brave enough to give love another chance. My books are set in a fictional small town called Sunrise Beach, located between Pawleys Island and Myrtle Beach.

If you’re new here, you should know a few things about me. I love the beach, I adore dogs, and I believe there is something incredibly powerful about gentle, hopeful stories. The kind of stories that help you breathe a little easier at the end of a long day. The kind of stories that say, “You’re not too late. You’re not too old. You’re not done yet.”

Those are the stories I want to write, and this blog will be a place where I talk about how they come to life.

Why I Stepped Back (And Why I’m Back to Blogging)

You may have noticed that things have been quiet here for quite a while. Like so many of us, I’ve had a full plate the last several years, and I was overwhelmed with everything I was doing. Between my side gig (as I call my day job as a school librarian), my writing projects, and everyday life, something had to go for a bit. And blogging was that thing.

Stepping away from blogging gave me space to focus on working on book projects and figuring out what I really wanted out of my author business. Over time, I realized how much I missed this kind of slower, more personal connection with readers. Social media moves fast, but a blog feels more like a cozy conversation at a coffee shop where we can sip our drinks and enjoy our time.

So, I’m back. Not with a hustle harder attitude, but with a more intentional approach. I want this space to feel sustainable for me and welcoming for you. No pressure to keep up with something new every single day—just a place we can both enjoy.

What You Can Expect Here

To keep things manageable, I’ll be posting twice a month, the first and third Thursdays. That gives me time to write and create the kinds of posts that feel worth reading.

Here’s the kind of content you can look forward to:

  • Behind-the-scenes glimpses at my writing life: what I’m working on, the challenges and wins along the way, and what it’s like balancing writing with everything else life throws at you
  • Sunrise Beach updates: general news about the world and its characters, what’s coming next, and the occasional hint about what’s coming in future books
  • Thoughts on romance themes I love: later-in-life love stories, second chances, found family, and why these themes matter so much to me
  • Dog content: because every story needs a four-legged friend, and I can’t resist sharing the pups who make their way into my books
  • Books I’m reading and other things that inspire me, plus monthly roundups of what’s happening in my world

A Warm Invitation to Stay

More than anything, I’m glad I’m back to blogging. Life can be noisy and demanding. Stories—and the communities that grow around them—can be a gentle counter to that. My hope is that when you visit this space, you leave feeling a little lighter and a little more hopeful.

You’re invited to stick around, subscribe so you don’t miss new posts, and jump into the comments when something resonates with you. Tell me about the kinds of love stories you enjoy, the romance tropes you can’t resist, or the dogs who’ve left paw prints on your heart. Readers and writers make each other’s worlds better, and I’d love for this to be a place where that connection grows.

Thank you for being here, whether you’ve read every word I’ve ever written or this is your very first visit. It truly means more than you know. Here’s to new words, new stories, and many cozy moments in Sunrise Beach together.

Your friend,

Michele

PS Can I say it one more time? I’m glad to be back to blogging. I’ve missed being here!
