Do you love to travel? Do you want to relive places you’ve been? Have I got some books for you!
For the past couple of years, I’ve been learning about the self-publishing world, and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that people like books in a series.
So when I started thinking about book ideas, I thought of my travel experiences — the places I’d been, the things I’d seen, restaurants where I’d eaten.
When I realized I had been to a couple of places numerous times, I thought about what a great idea it would be to share those memories with my readers and offer some tips from those trips.
So that’s exactly what I’ve done.
What is the format of the books?
I’ve written three short travel memoirs and provided links to the things I did, places I stayed, and restaurants where I ate. I wanted to make my readers feel like there were there on each trip with my family and me, experiencing everything like we did.
At the same time I wanted to share the links. I always find it helpful when people tell me about things to do or restaurants, and I wanted to do the same.
What are the travel books about?
So with the format of the books, I wrote about places I’ve traveled over the years. Many of the trips are ones I took with my kids the last 15 years. Only one trip was a solo one I took in 2017.
The first book is about the popular city, Myrtle Beach. I’ve been there five times from the time I was a 20-something before I left home. I can’t help it I loved traveling with my parents as a young adult.
With the second book, I didn’t write about one particular city in Florida, but rather several beach towns, or beach trips, I took with and without the kids. I say trips because one of them was a short day trip while my son and I were in Florida one spring break.
The third and last book for now is about a popular town in southwest Missouri called Branson. The kids and I visited my parents while they were there in the summer several times.
When will the books be published?
On Thursday, January 25, I’m releasing Adventures in Myrtle Beach. The other two will release within a couple of weeks after that — Adventures in Florida on Thursday, February 1, and Adventures in Branson on Monday, February 5.
If you’re wondering why I’m releasing them so closely together, then it’s the method I’ve learned in a writing group. There’s no need to worry about it. Just be ready to read all three of them!
Seriously, though, I hope you’ll check each one of them out.
