What are your favorite TV shows? I can’t pick just one because they are several good shows on the little screen at the moment.
And I have a variety of TV shows I enjoy watching every week. From medical and emergency kind of TV shows to the entertaining ones, I have a list of the top ten shows I watch each week.
1. Chicago Fire
I started watching this one when it first came on TV a few years ago. My grandfather was a fireman and captain at the fire department where we lived in northern Indiana. When I was a young child, I remember going to visit him at whatever fire station he was. We had three in my birth town.
Of course, the fire station we had there versus the one on TV look nothing alike. I guess that’s big city versus small town.
I enjoy this show because it keeps me interested. Of course, the nice looking firemen make it worth watching, too.
2. Chicago Med
I can’t remember when this show came out because I know the Chicago story lines developed at different times. I wasn’t too sure about this show at first, but it has grown on me.
I enjoy watching the medical shows. I mean, I started watching them back in the ER days. Remember that show?
Chicago Med is pretty authentic like ER was, but it’s still not quite the same. However, I still like to watch this show.
3. Criminal Minds
As a criminal justice major, this show is a must. If we had a big city around like this show does, I would have to seriously think about getting a job in the field. Unfortunately, it’s not a true thing here where I live.
Shemar Moore made the show so enjoyable to watch, but even with him gone now, I still like it. I’m always amazed at how they all think and work together to solve a crime. It’s like a puzzle that they all put together as a team.
4. Hawaii Five-O
When I was a kid (yes, here comes another story.), I watched the older version of this. I couldn’t resist watching this newer version so I’ve been watching it since it first aired several years ago.
The two lead roles are easy on the eyes and their opposite ways of thinking make the show funny at times. McGarrett is more of a serious type while Danny gives us the humor.
And it was certainly awesome when my favorite rocker, Rick Springfield, guest starred one episode.
I hate that the other original characters have left the show this year. It’s not quite the same as it was. However, I know when a show has run as long as this one has, people are ready to move on to bigger and better things.
5.The Blacklist
I started out watching this show from the beginning because it hooked my interest. However, in the last couple of years, I’ve missed some of it.
But that’s what Hulu is for — catch up with the episodes. James Spader is great to watch so I can’t resist watching and wondering what he’ll do next.
6. The Voice
This show makes me laugh out loud — seriously. This season is going to be great. Kelly Clarkson makes a great addition to the coaches. She gives back to Blake and entertains us so much.
I’m not a fan of Mylie Cyrus so those seasons are harder for me to watch. But the rest of the judges are okay. Adam and Blake are the best, though. Gosh, how they make me laugh.
I have watched this show almost from the beginning. My daughter and I used to watch it together every week, but now I’m on my own. And I’m okay with that. That won’t stop me from watching it.
7. Blue Bloods
Tom Selleck — need I say more? I watched him in Magnum P.I. and now this show.
While he’s aged many years since those Magnum days, he still makes me want to watch him. He’s so serious for the most part about his role in this show.
Blue Bloods has been on a long time as well so I’m losing interest. The bad part is after a week at work sometimes I don’t always make it to the end of the day on Friday.
8. This is Us
Wow, this show is awesome. I had watched Parenthood on Netflix when I first got it and thought what a great show it was. However, This is Us tops that show, and I didn’t think it was possible.
Since the show started, I’ve missed the beginnings of a few episodes last fall when I was helping with the high school marching band. But now that I have Hulu, I won’t miss another episode.
This show speaks to me. It’s so down-to-earth and so true to life. You cry. You laugh. Just like life.
9. Code Black
This show hasn’t come back on yet, but I think it’s more of a summer time show. I have watched it almost from the start, too.
Of the medical shows I watch now, I have to say this one is probably my favorite. I think it’s because it was more realistic than Chicago Med.
When Rob Lowe was added to the lineup, he makes me want to watch even more. He was always good looking when he was younger, and as he ages, he still continues to look good.
10. Grey’s Anatomy
Like many of the shows on this list, I’ve watched this show from the beginning, too. It’s also the third medical show on my list.
One of the things I enjoy doing in life is helping other people. But the medical field is not something I wanted to do. I can’t do the needles, the vomit, the gross stuff. Plus I know medical school is rigorous, and I don’t deal well with stuff like that.
But watching the gross stuff on TV makes it easier to see. I can always cover my eyes if I don’t want to see something.
So I watch TV shows about the medical field so I can feel like I’m a part of that. I loved this show from the beginning, but after they killed off McDreamy, I stopped watching for a while.
As far as I was concerned, they ruined the show when they did that. However, I have started watching it again. It’s still not quite the same as it was, but it’s okay.
Well, there’s my Top 10 list of my favorite TV shows. I think it’s a good list with a variety of shows on it.
